Data Security
Data security is Cal.net's highest
priority. The Cal.net data center employs 24-hour video surveillance, electronic key-card entry,
lockable racks, fire protection and more to provide the confidence that your data is secure.
Near-zero Downtime Reliability
The Cal.net data center is unmatched
in El Dorado County for reliability and performance. Cal.net employs multiple redundant Internet
backbone connections with speeds up to 100 megabits/second. Cal.net's redundant switching
system automatically detects and compensates for any backbone failures. Our backbones travel over
independent physical links – fiber optic cable and microwave wireless for protection against
catastrophic system failures outside of Cal.net s control. Cal.net data center's electrical power
reliability is achieved through UPS battery systems and a high-capacity electric generator.
Environmental temperature is monitored and maintained with both a primary and back-up air
conditioner should the primary unit fail.
Managed Services
Cal.net managed services provides
the information technology skills and talent required to manage your servers and applications.

Basic package includes one Ethernet drop, one IP address, up to
2 Amps power, and 300 GB per month of full duplex data transfer.
Power requirements in excess of 2 Amps, as determined by manufacturer's
specifications, is charged at $25 per month for each 2-Amp increment over 2 Amps.
Actual power usage is rounded up to the nearest even integer Amp value to determine
overage cost.
Additional IP addresses are charged at $5 per address.
Any monthly transfer volume exceeding 300 GB in either direction in
a month is subject to an overage charge based on 95th-percentile bandwidth usage, as
follows:
* Anything over 1 Mbps (at 95th percentile) is charged at the rate of
$100 per Mbps, in quarter-Mbps increments, for any excess beyond 1 Mbps.
* Actual meter readings are rounded up to the nearest quarter-Mbps increment to
determine price point.
* Example: 1.35 Mbps is 0.35 Mbps excess, rounded up to 0.5 Mbps, therefore a
$50 surcharge is added to bill
Any monthly transfer volume under 300 GB may be awarded a credit based
on 95th-percentile bandwidth usage, as follows:
* Anything under 750 kbps (at 95th percentile) is credited at the rate
of $50 per Mbps, in quarter-Mbps increments counting down from 1 Mbps
* Actual meter readings are rounded up to the nearest quarter-Mbps increment
to determine price point.
* Example: 0.65 Mbps (650 kbps) is rounded to 0.75 Mbps, which is 0.25 Mbps
below the threshold, therefore a $12.50 credit is applied to next bill
