Connection Problem Power Cycle
During storms we have discovered that many wireless Internet users have lost the ability to connect to our network
from Power outages, Power surges, or near by Lightning strikes that have create a static discharge and temporarily lock
up communications on our equipment. The solution to many of these cases has been to simply power cycle your wireless
Radio by following these steps.
If you still cannot connect to the Internet please contact our technical support department at your earliest
convenience or use your complimentary backup dial-up connection to send a support request to support@sierradvantage.com.
Whenever you suspect that your Internet connection might not be working, You may be able to resolve the issue
yourself by "Power-Cycling" your POE Adapter. Your POE Adapter (Figure 1 or 2) is the device used to power up the Wireless
Radio installed at your location. Sometimes a simple disconnection of the POE adapter from the power source for 1
minute will cause your wireless radio to renegotiate a connection to the Network.
Step 1 - The power supply labeled "Motorola" has a green power light. The
other power supply is labeled "Condor" and has no power light. Disconnect the power supply from the power
source for at least 1 FULL minute. While this is disconnected, Move to Step 2.

Step 2 - Disconnect the "Grey" Cat5 Cable coming out of the wall plate to the back of
your POE adapter as shown in (Figure 3). (Note: In this picture the Cat5 Cable is red, not grey.) Leave
this disconnected for at least 1 minute also. Continue to Step 3.

Step 3 - Reboot your PC and reconnect all connections that were disconnected in steps
1 & 2. Allow the Wireless Radio 2 minutes to establish a connection to the network and try your connection again.
